Products Description

Product Overview:

FRP containers have good designability, are easy to form, and are convenient to maintain. Compared with steel, FRP (FIBERGLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC) itself has extremely high corrosion resistance, and its specific gravity is between 1.5-2, which is  much lower than 7.8 of steel. Its mechanical strength is no less than that of ordinary carbon steel, and it has a small thermal expansion coefficient and good thermal insulation performance. These advantages have made it quickly widely used in various industries in China.

1. Lightweight and high strength

The specific gravity of FRP is only 1.4-2.0g/cm, which is only 20%-25% of steel. The tensile strength of fiber-wound FRP can reach 300Mpa-  500Mpa, which exceeds the ultimate strength of ordinary steel and even reaches or exceeds some special alloy steels. Therefore, it can be used as the main material for anti-corrosion equipment and has the advantages of easy transportation, installation and maintenance.

2. Excellent corrosion resistance

By properly selecting the type and grade of materials, a variety of FRP products that are resistant to acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents can be produced. Equipment made of FRP materials not only has internal anti-corrosion properties, but also has good external anti-corrosion properties, thus reducing equipment maintenance costs.

3. Smooth inner surface

The lining is formed on the mold, with a roughness coefficient of 0.0084, very few corrosion products, no scaling, no breeding of bacteria and microorganisms, smooth surface, and very easy to clean.

4. Good designability

Composite materials with different performance requirements can be produced by changing the type of raw materials, the ratio of fiber to resin, and the distribution direction of the fiber.

5. Anti-aging and flame retardant

FRP is a type of plastic and also has the problem of natural aging and burning. The anti-aging and flame retardant properties of FRP can be improved by adding a certain proportion of anti-aging agent and flame retardant. The oxygen index can reach 34-36, which fully meets the fire protection requirements.

6. Good electrical and thermal insulation

FRP is a non-conductor with good insulation properties. It is most suitable for areas with dense power transmission and telecommunication lines and areas prone to lightning. It has a small thermal conductivity coefficient (0.25kcal/mh℃), good thermal insulation and low heat loss.

7. Impact resistance

Although FRP is a non-metallic material, its impact resistance can be significantly improved through process improvements.

8. Low overall cost

Although the one-time investment of FRP is higher than that of carbon steel and general plastic equipment,  it is lower than that of stainless steel and non-ferrous metal equipment. Due to the advantages of FRP such as light weight, good corrosion resistance , long service life and less maintenance, its installation and use costs are low and the overall cost is low.

New Development in the Fiberglass

New Development in the Fiberglass

In recent years, fiberglass - reinforced plastic has shown great potential in numerous fields and has become a dazzling star in the materials field.

In the construction industry, fiberglass - reinforced plastic is widely used for its lightweight and high - strength characteristics. Compared with traditional building materials, the weight of fiberglass - reinforced plastic can be reduced by 30% - 50%, but its strength can reach or even exceed that of some metal materials. For example...
